Some were astonished: Patrick Baum reached the final of the European Championships? In 2010 the sceptics thought that was rather a lucky coincidence.

As if! In 2011 the DONIC star confirmed that this success wasn’t only a one-day wonder. At the title match in Gdansk he reached the final again and again it was only Timo Boll who could stop him. No doubt: Patrick Baum has improved his playing skill and established in the circle of the world top.

his triumph at the Youth World Championships the DONIC star achieved also his breakthrough at the men’s team – and afterwards he continuously got among the best 20 in the world ranking, where he has established since that time.

But Patrick hasn’t only improved his playing skills, he has also improved mentally. He told himself to think only about the next match, the next tournament, the next task. That helps even if it doesn’t run smoothly. “I think that’s the best way”, says Patti to himself.

Patrick Baum is a highly intelligent and sensitive person, someone who worries a lot. And that’s like he chooses his equipment.
