SVS Niederösterreich
Not only in Austria is the sports club Schwechat Niederösterreich known as one of the most successful clubs. When winning the European Champions League in 2008, the team celebrated his biggest success at international level. Another four times the SVS NÖ reached the final of Europe’s most important league. Furthermore in the Super League and at Austrian Championships, the club has been seen as the ultimate benchmark – 13 times in series Austrian Champion, 13 times in series winner of the Super League which goes across borders.
In 1998 the SVS NÖ arose from the clubs SV Schwechat and Union Wolkersdorf. From the beginning the aim was to establish a strong team at national and international level. At that time, however, nobody dared to dream of the current success.
Current and former European Champions and with Werner Schlager even the last non-Asian World Champion, form the squad of the SVS NÖ. Since a long time ago, some of the best players world-wide belong regularly to the squad of the SVS NÖ. The club counts to the top clubs in the world. The SVS NÖ is admired throughout the whole country (Austria) and they do everything to continue like this.
In the season 2012/2013 the aim is to keep the title. Due to the success at the Austrian Table Tennis Cup in August, they added another chapter in Austrian history. In the Champions League the aim was to reach the quarter final. However, as they had dropped in the quarter final last year, the players want to reach more in this year.
